Today I will tell you step by step how to add a twitter badge to your website. Twitter is a micro blogging service. A Micro blog is just like a regular blog but limited to around 140 charcaters. In other words they're typically just a couple of sentences long. Microblogging has caught on because it's an easy and fun way to keep your friends up to date on what you're doing and where you're at. Most people write their micro blogs from their cell phone via text messsage.

A twitter badge is a post-it size note that can be placed on your webpage and display your micro blog. Be sure to follow the instructions below and update the micro blog frequently to keep site visitors coming back to see what you're up to.

1. Go to Twitter.com and create or login to your account.

If you haven't already done so you'll need to go to twitter and create an account. If you already have an account you'll need to login.

2. Write your micro blog.

Once you're logged in you'll see an empty field with the questions above it that says 'What are you doing?".  Write what you're doing in the space provided and then click the update button.

3. Go to twiiter.com/badges.

Now that you've updated your micro blog you can get the badge to post your micro blog on your site by going to twitter.com/badges. From there you'll want to choose the option listed as 'Other'. After that you'll be able to customize the color and appearance of your badge.

4. Copy and paste your twitter badge onto your website.

Now that you've customized your badge click on the button labled 'Copy Code To Clipboard'. Navigate your way back to your WebStarts page editor view and click on insert and then HTML code on the toolbar. You can then paste the HTML code in the space provided an click 'OK'. Drag and drop your twitter badge where you would like it to appear on your page and click save.

You can now keep your twitter badge up to date by logging into your Twitter.com account and updating your micro blog. Now you'll always be in touch with your site visitors even when you're on the go.
